Groups of Interest of the French Branch

Overview

The GoI of the French Branch have a worldwide presence and can look back on a long history. They mostly don't produce anomalies, but use existing ones to further their own goals. At the moment, there are eight Groups of Interest listed in the French Branch.

African Office of Occult Affairs

African Office of Occult Affairs
Origin: Active in: Creator:	France French colonies in Africa Charles Magne
- Created by the king Louis-Philippe I in 1830, dissolved in 1962 following the independence of Algeria. - Charged with the protection of the anomalous interests of France in Africa. - In competition with any other colonial or private groups of interest on the continent for the recuperation and study of anomalous african artefacts. - Reach it's pinnacle in the 1920-1930's and actively helps the resistance and the Allied Occult Initiative during WWII. - After its dissolution, the French government sold a large part of the AOOA's resources and anomalies to the SCP Foundation at low prices.

The AOOA towards other GoI

Chaos Insurgency
The AOOA and the CI clashed on numerous occasions, especially during the gradual collapse of the French colonial empire.
Global Occult Coalition
Although it was a former active member organisation of the Allied Occult Initiative, the AOOA was severely criticized by the GOC for its imperialist and colonialist policies after WW2.
GRU Division "P"
During the Cold War, the AOOC and the Division "P" were in conflict.
The Hive
The Office was already disbanded when the Hive emerged, therefore it could not take a direct influence on it.
National Gendastrerie
Both depending of the french governement's Noir Estate, the AOOA works together with the Colonial Gendastrerie to maintain the order and treat the parathreats threatening the population.
Primordial
After the dissolution of the AOOA, several of its former members joined Primordial.
ROYAL INSTITUTE OF ITALIAN ANOMALIES
As rivals in Libya and Ethiopia, the AOOA and the ROYAL ITALIAN INSTITVTE OF ANOMALIES were in conflict.
SAPPHIRE
AOOA considers SAPPHIRE as a terrorist organization but has rarely faced them.
The Serpent's Hand
The AOOA and the Serpent's Hand have always been in open conflict.
Special Security Commission
The AOOA and the Special Security Commission were in conflict over their concurrent presence in Morocco.
Section XXV
The Office never became aware of Section XXV.
Sonderkommando for the Paranormal
The AOOA actively fought the SKP during WW2, first in North Africa then in Italy and on the Western Front.

Humanist Gentlemen

Humanist Gentlemen
Origin: Active in: Creator:	France the entire world DrTesla
- Humanist organization, created in the 18th century by Jean-Baptiste Ravin de Courville and the Baron d'Holbach. - Strives to improve human condition by use of anomalies - Views anomalies as a natural thing people should accept and are against the destruction and the imprisonment of harmless anomalous objects - Acts rather discreetly, making information gathering difficult - Neutral towards of the Foundation - Tries to keep causalities as low as possible

The Humanist Gentlemen towards other GoI

Global Occult Coalition
Given the GOCs policy regarding Anomalies, the Gentlemen are openly hostile towards it. Although a direct confrontation is unfeasible due to the size of the Gentlemen's group, they keep on disrupting GOC operations. They view the Council of the 108 as illegitimate.
The Hive
The Humanist Gentlemen and the Hive work together on certain projects, but the Gentlemen believe the Hive network to be the wrong way, since the Better Man should be capable of mastering every task with his own power alone. For that reason, man gentlemen refuse to try the network, but not all, who are therfore viewed as naive.
Marshall, Carter, and Dark Ltd.
The Humanist Gentlemen and Marshall, Carter and Dark Ltd. trade information and anomalies with each other since the 19th century. They share many of their members.
Ordo Iani
The Humanist Gentlemen denounce the practices of the order of Light and view it as obstacle in their quest to create the Better Man.
Primordial
Although their ties were initally very strong since the two organisations shared similar humanist views, since the Primates took over and imposed strong for-profit policies, they are currently streaming further away from each other. But they keep on cooperating.
SAPPHIRE
The Gentlemen and SAPPHIRE seem to have the same roots and view each other apparently as respectable enemies. They both believe that the other one is in the wrong.
Sarkic Cults
The Gentlemen view the Sarkic Cults as an abomination, since their beliefs and customs are viewed as the exact opposite of the ideals of the "Better Men".
Section XXV
The Gentlemen don't know about Section XXV and do not actively try to get hold of its remains. Some of them end up in their possession regardless
Serpent’s Hand
Despite sharing several viewpoints, both organizations have an unsteady relationship with each other, alternating between allied and hostile.

National Gendastrerie

National Gendastrerie
Origin: Active in: Creator:	France France DrTesla and DrGemini
- Paranormal equivalent of the Gendarmerie, founded by Napoleon in 1804 to counter an alien invasion. - Struggles a lot today due to resources and budgetary cuts, can't go on strike because they don't officially exist. - Mostly concentrates on paracriminality, folklore and social issues at local scales. - Had a golden age in the 1900s and a dark age of collaboration under the Vichy France. - Collaborates with the Foundation and the official paraorganizations of most states.

The Nationale Gendastrerie towards other GoI

Global Occult Coalition
The French Gendastrerie tend to maintain diplomatic relations with the GOC and obey to most of its directive, but some chauvinistic defiance often appears in its ranks.
Central Bureau for Paranormal Cases (CBSP)
The French Gendastrerie always maintained good or at least diplomatic relations with the Polish Bureau of Paranormal Cases.
Department of Abnormal Threats of the Security Service of Ukraine
The French Gendastrerie always maintained good or at least diplomatic relations with the Ukrainian Security Service.
GRU Division "P"
During the Cold War, the Gendastrerie and the Division "P" were, for obvious reasons, in conflict.
Primordial
The Gendastrerie actively seeks to stop the hitmen of Primordial.
The Hive
The Gendastrerie is investigating the Hive but results are coming along slowly and contradict each other on occasion.
Humanist Gentlemen
While aknowledging their existence, the Gendastrerie don't actively track the Gentlemen, due to their discretion and the relative lack of casualities.
ROYAL INSTITVTE OF ITALIAN ANOMALIES
The French Gendastrerie always maintained good or at least diplomatic relations with the Italian Royal Institute.
SAPPHIRE
As a terrorist threat, the Gendastrerie has a special force (the F.A.T.I.M.A.) dedicated to the neutralization of SAPPHIRE.
Scarlet Hammer
By the past, the Gendastrerie already had to deal with anomalous artifacts in provenance of the Scarlet Hammer networks.
Section XXV
The Gendastrerie was aware of GDR activity on french territory but didn't know by whom and never managed to sufficiently proof the involvement of the Stasi.
Special Security Commission
The French Gendastrerie had diplomatic yet tense relations with the Special Security Commission.
Sonderkommando for the Paranormal
During the Vichy Regime, the French Gendastrerie was forced to collaborate with the Sonderkommando, while the SS was taking control of most of the french anomalies and paranormal cases.
Unusual Incident Units
The French Gendastrerie always maintained good or at least diplomatic relations with the American UIU.

Nemo and the Nautilus

Nemo and the Nautilus
Origin: Active in: Creator:	France the entire world DrJohannes, Dr Grym, Mafiew
- Organization of unknown nature. Apparently formed by an ex-member of the Foundation in the early 2000's - Is completely hostile towards the Foundation: the main goal of the organization is to wipe out the Foundation completely, for reasons still unclear to this day. - The organization acts throught differents means such as memetic anomalies that makes it hard to define clearly. - Creates and uses info-hazardous anomalies to specifically target Foundation personnel, and other entities collaborating with it. These anomalies seem to be designed to never hurt any non-Foundation related person.

Nemo and the Nautilus towards other GoI

The Hive
Nemo and the Nautilus are cooperating with the Hive to destroy the Foundation in which they see a common enemy.
Section XXV
Nemo knows through Foundation records of the Section and sometimes uses its anomalies for his schemes.

Order of Light

Order of Light
Origin: Active in: Creator:	France France, Middle-East Torrential
- Organization which emerged from the Knight Templars - Founded in 1224 by Hugues de Payens - Has the mission to keep anomalies hidden or to weaponize them - Has extensive financial ressources due to the extraction of Gems and Oil in the Middle-East - Has anomalous entities in its ranks - Neutral towards of the Foundation - Tries to keep innocents safe

The Order of the Light towards other GoI

The Hive
The Hive is viewed as a curious but in the end trivial phenomenon by The Order.
Section XXV
The Order is aware of the existence of Section XXV since it acquired its first anomaly made by it. It searches for further remains to use them as weapons or to lock them away.

Primordial

Primordial
Origin: Active in: Creator:	France Europe DrCendres and Agent Koop
- Powerfull mercenary organization, for hire by anomalous groups that do not threaten normalcy -Has since 1950 a strict ethic doctrine regarding anomalies, it enforces secrecy of the abnormal, for example - Since 1960 run by the Primates, their exact numbers are unknown - Work together the Foundation and give it anomalies for contaiment, cannot be trusted, however - Allthough bound by ethics, it serves first and foremost itself, even harming innocents in the process.

Primordial towards other GoI

Church of the Broken God
The Church of the Broken God finds itself on the List of backers banned by Primordial.
GRU Division "P"
A small group of deserters from the GRU Division "P" are currently supporting Primordial.
The Hive
Primordial was hired by the Hive several times for joint-operations. The Hive is regarded as an group that is easy to work with, so there is much pro-Hive sentiment inside Primordial.
Humanist Gentlemen.

Section XXV
Primordial had no knowledge about Section XXV until after its demise, only learning of it through missions involving its remains. Primordial now collects anomalies of the Section for containment, use or study.

SAPPHIRE

Society of Atheists for the Protection from the Perilous and Hindering Institutionalized Religions Everywhere (SAPPHIRE)
Origin: Active in: Creator:	France Europe, North America DrGemini
- Group of extremist assertoric atheists - View anomalies as well as religion as threat to conventional science and therefore, try to eradicate them. - Destroys or weaponizes anomalies under its control - Hostile towards of the Foundation, although respectful - Actively attack many civilians when carrying out terrorist attacks

SAPPHIRE towards other GoI

The Chicago Spirit
The american branch of SAPPHIRE has already traded with the Chicago Spirit during the 1920's, for buying or destroying anomalies and planning attacks.
Church of the Broken God
SAPPHIRE is very hostile towards the Church of the Broken God and almost eradicated its cult in France in 2015 with SCP-3859.
The Civilian
Probably one of the only GoI SAPPHIRE supports, as they directly oppose the anomalous. Though SAPPHIRE is not implanted in Asia, the Society might furnish money, weapons and various help to the Civilian, and vice versa.
Confraternity of Saint George’s Knights
As a catholic and paranormal organization, SAPPHIRE is aware the existence of the Confraternity, and hostile towards it.
The Daevites
SAPPHIRE's archaelogists actively deny the existence of the Daevites, and contribute to hide their existence to the civilian population.
Doctor
SAPPHIRE is not aware of Doctor.
Fourth Reich
SAPPHIRE is not aware of the Fourth Reich.
Galactic Federation
SAPPHIRE is hostile toward the Galactic Federation, as it synthetizes everything the Society hates about falsehood.
Global Occult Coalition
SAPPHIRE was part of the GOC's Concil of 108 after its foundation, but left as soon as 1953, as the Coalition protected civilian religions and recruited numerous consultant thaumaturges. They are now chased by the GOC as a terrorist organization.
Grotto of Gangrenous God
SAPPHIRE is hostile toward Grotto the Gangrenous God.
The Hive
The continous meddling of the Hive with SAPPHIRE’s mission make it a target of elimination with extreme prejudice. Members get shot on sight or in case of prior affliation with SAPPHIRE, are subjected to "therapy sessions" got rip the fom the Hive network. Until now without success.
Horizon Initiative
SAPPHIRE is extremely hostile toward the Horizon Initiative, as it federates the three abrahamic religions, their principal targets.
Humanist Gentlemen
SAPPHIRE and the Gentlemen seem to have the same roots and view each other apparently as respectable enemies. They both believe that the other one is in the wrong.
Institut für menschliche Bildung und Weiterentwicklung
SAPPHIRE has purposes and ideals similar to those of the Institut but, like for the Humanist Gentlemen in France, the Society considers that their will to use anomalous means to reach these ideals is wrong. As they fight for scientific progress, they don't actively try to harm the Institut.
The Millionaire, Mr. Royer
The rich elite behind SAPPHIRE, such as the Silverstein and Faustil dynasties, have heard about Mr. Royer, even if he stays a mystery to them. SAPPHIRE never interacted with him before.
OBSKURA
A part of the SAPPHIRE members worked with the nazis during the WW2, but most of them switched sides before the end of the war because of their humanist ideals or aversion for paraweapons. SAPPHIRE and OBSKURA are not in touch nowadays.
Office For The Reclamation of Islamic Artifacts
SAPPHIRE and the ORIA are extremely hostile towards each other, both leading terrorists attacks against the other. SAPPHIRE most notably stole the Nine Swords of Muhammad, seeked by the ORIA.
Oneiroi Collective
SAPPHIRE is not aware of the Oneiroi Collective.
Order of Light
SAPPHIRE views the Order of Light as enemy, since the Order doesn't destroy its anomalies.
Section XXV
SAPPHIRE has no information regarding Section XXV but tries to destroy any of its anomalies it comes across regardless.

Univers'Island Kingdom

Univers'Island Kingdom

- Kingdom in parallel reality SCP-333-FR-PRIME, which is made of emptiness with a large floating island called the "The Kingdom" - Founded around 1820 but got cut of from the baseline universe by settlers returning to Earth until portal technologies where developed in the 20th century - Denizens view themselves as superhuman and wish to claim the Earth because of their supposed moral superiority - Technology of the Kingdom relies on anomalous phenomena and is superior Earth’s technology - Didn’t overrun the baseline universe because of internal problems - Hostile towards of the Foundation - View causalities as neccessary sacrifice, except for a persecuted group wishing to bond with Earths population in a peacefull manner.

The Univers'Island Kingdom towards other GoI

The Hive
The Kingdom is not aware of the Hive.
Section XXV
The Kindom tried to gather information in the GDR, but those assets where discoverred by the Stasi and by extension Section XXV, which interred or assasinated them in many but not all cases. The Kingdom has to this day no clue about Section XXV.
