Item #: SCP-774-JP
Object Class:: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-774-JP iis contained in a special containment cell at Site-81██. A speaker is installed within the cell to immediately execute protocol "kiju(鬼呪)" if the object behaves hostilely.The object is to be fed 1 kg of raw meat once a day by dropping it from a special machine.
It is forbidden to call SCP-774-JP as "SCP-774-JP" or "Fukuten-sama", and in principle, calling it "Tamasaburo" is also prohibited except in the case of Protocol "kiju".For the sake of convenience, this document will refer to the object as "SCP-774-JP", but remember that this is not recommended for actual use.
See below for special containment procedures prior to ██/██/20██.
Description: SCP-774-JP is a kind of life form and normally resembles a domestic cat(Felis silvestris catus). It has the ability to speak despite having the same developmental organs as a domestic cat, and has Extremely high replayability and shapeshifting ability.
It uses its shapeshifting ability primarily to transform into a life form like a giant wildcat(Felis silvestris) approximately 3 meters tall, but it also transforms into a humanoid or liquid life form.
Its physical abilities surpass those of the one it imitates. It is extremely difficult to terminate, as it can fully recover from incapacitating injuries by combining its regenerative abilities with its transformation into a liquid life form.
SCP-774-JP has high intelligence, Disgust and cruelty directed at humans, but likes humans as luxury items and shows symptoms similar to dissociative personality symptoms, and It causes random personality changes. Currently, three personalities have been discovered in SCP-774-JP, and it is possible to prompt a change to each personality by calling out the name corresponding to each personality. See below table for information of each personality
| Classification | Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| SCP-774-JP-1 | SCP-774-JP | It'sery hostile and likes humans as luxury items. To date, there have been █ attempts to breach containment, resulting in ██ serious injuries and █ fatalities. Be careful when interacting. |
| SCP-774-JP-2 | Fukuten-sama | It has an arrogant attitude and looks down on humans. While it is relatively gentle, it attacks those who do not worship it as "divine punishment." It does not actively cause incidents, but be careful. |
| SCP-774-JP-3 | Tamasaburo | It is generally friendly and will not become aggressive unless you interfere too much. It makes no attempt to anomalous properties and acts as if they do not exist. It develops symptoms similar to mild depression, and this personality lasts very less than the other two. |
As a result of the investigation at the time of initial containment, it was discovered that ██ Shrine in a mountain village in ██ Prefecture and Mr. ██, who lived nearby, were individuals associated with SCP-774-JP. A series of murders believed to be caused by SCP-774-JP had been occurring in the area several weeks prior to initial containment.
██ Shrine has a history dating back to the Azuchi-Momoyama period, and the ritual involved offering five grains, then slaughtering a live chicken and offering its blood, but as of 19██, the ritual was discontinued due to the aging and declining population of the village. Subsequent investigations revealed that on ██/██/20██, a video recording of a ritual at ██ Shrine was posted to multiple video sharing sites with the caption "A cruel Japanese festival! A barbaric indigenous religion rooted in a savage land!", and approximately █████ comments which are negative and claiming they are disgusted were confirmed. For more information about the shrine, refer to Interview Log 774-JP-B.
Mr. ██ was a student at ██ University who lived alone near the shrine, and his connection to SCP-774-JP was discovered during an incident thought to be related to SCP-774-JP. No ties to him have been identified with other anomalous entities or suspicious groups. He had been keeping a stray domestic cat for three months prior to the incident, and the cat went missing around the same time the incident occurred. about him, refer to Interview Log 774-JP-C.
█Based on the results of the above investigation, it was concluded that SCP-774-JP is identical to the kami enshrined at ██ Shrine and the pet cat of Mr. ███. At the same time, a protocol called "kiju" was proposed, which involves calling SCP-774-JP "Fukuten-sama" or "Tamasaburo" to calm it down. When the proposal was first submitted, many people were skeptical of its effectiveness, but after SCP-774-JP escaped from the containment facility on the same day, the director of Site-81██ urgently authorized the implementation of the protocol.

<START LOG>
[The sound of gunfire echoes. SCP-774-JP dodges the bullets, but several hit it.]
Task Force Commander: Keep attacking! If we stop attacking, it will come to us!
SCP-774-JP: You damn clever people. But the attacks with those tubes won't last forever, will them?

Task Force Commander: ……You guys heard the message, right? All personnel, execute protocol "Kiju"! Everyone except for the attacking personnel, keep calling its names!
[Voices are recorded calling out the names Fukuten-sama or Tamasaburo.]
SCP-774-JP: Why……? Those, names……?!
[SCP-774-JP's movements become rigid, and a voice sounding like it is in pain is recorded.]
Task Force Commander: It has been determined to be effective! Continue the protocol until it calm down!

SCP-774-JP-2?2: I am Fukuten. I am the kami who bestows protection on the lowly who offer sacrifices.
SCP-774-JP-3?3: I'm Tamasaburo. I'm his cat, and if I don't come back soon, he'll be worried.[SCP-774-JP approaches a nearby task force member. Attacks against it are ineffective.]
SCP-774-JP-1?: Hey, human, answer me a question.
SCP-774-JP-2?: Lowly one, answer my question.
SCP-774-JP-3?: Hey guy, I beg you an answer for my question.Task Force Member.: Don't come any closer! Don't come…!

SCP-774-JP-2?: What am I?
SCP-774-JP-3?: What on the earth am I?[SCP-774-JP shrinks and returns to its normal state. SCP-774-JP does not take any action.]
Task Force Commander: ……SCP-774-JP is confirmed to have calmed down, and is being re-contained.
<END LOG>
Because of examining the effectiveness of SCP-774-JP to a certain extent, it has been decided to adopt Protocol "Kiju" as a special containment procedure by limiting the name to "Tamasaburo". Subsequently, Researcher Kitabatake submitted the following opinion, and temporary permission was granted to reduce the use of names related to SCP-774-JP. Opinions on how to more smoothly contain SCP-774-JP are always welcome.
Note: Researcher Kitabatake's opinion
Based on the statements made by SCP-774-JP during the initial execution of Protocol "kiju" and the current research results, I speculate that SCP-774-JP is a "living organism whose properties change in response to human thoughts." I also speculate that a given quality will never be lost as long as the "name" that points to it remains.
We named that monster "SCP-774-JP." We used the symbol we normally use to classify SCP objects as the name of a vicious, man-eating monster. Even if the object number is changed, the fact that SCP-774-JP was named as a monster in the past will not disappear. It is entirely possible that the properties of "SCP-774-JP" will remain the same, or that new properties will be revealed if it is reassigned to a new number.It should also be noted that stories of the "Monster at ██ Shrine" still persist, and that eradicating it would be extremely difficult.
I request that the use of names related to SCP-774-JP be reduced other than Protocol "kiju".Until we have a complete solution, we should not call that cat SCP-774-JP, Fukuten-sama, or Tamasaburo.
